Egyptian military bulldozers are digging along Egypt’s border with Gaza in a renewed campaign to put an end to the last remaining cross-border underground smuggling tunnels.
The project, billed as the construction of a fish farm, effectively would fill the border area with water.
Today, Palestinian smugglers still operate an estimated 20 tunnels. Several smugglers said they are installing water pumps to drain the tunnels in case they flood.
