El Al Israel Airlines’ board of directors has chosen former Israel Air Force commander-in-chief Major-General Eliezer Shakedi as its new CEO to succeed Chaim Romano.
El Al’s board of directors was asked to choose between three candidates, Shakedi, Shlomo Liran and Giora Bar-Dea. Shakedi, who was eventually chosen, was head of the Israel Air Force until 18 months ago. The handover from Romano to Shakedi is expected to take two months.
