Israel’s national airline El Al will most likely not resume full commercial flights until at least September 30, the company informed the country’s stock exchange in a statement sent on Tuesday.

The decision was taken “in view of the restrictions still in force concerning the isolation of most travelers arriving in Israel” due to the coronavirus, EL AL said in the statement, adding it will extend its unpaid leave program to some 6,000 employees.

As of Sunday, Israeli tourists can fly to Bulgaria, Croatia and some destinations in Greece, without being required to self-quarantine upon their return, in accordance with a directive adopted last week by the government.
