ElBaradei: “Morsi Declared Himself Pharaoh”

Hope he hadn’t planned his celebration party yet.

Egypt’s local media is reporting that Mohamed ElBaradei’s name has been withdrawn for interim Prime Minister after pushback from main Salafi political party, al-Nour. Negotiations are ongoing for a new pick. ElBaradei, a Nobel Laurent, is a former U.N. nuclear watchdog and current leader of an alliance of liberal and left-wing parties.

Of ousted former president Mohamed Morsi, ElBaradei told reporters, “Mr. Morsi unfortunately undermined his own legitimacy by declaring himself a few months ago as a pharaoh and then we got into a fist-fight, and not a democratic process.” Read more.
