Former minister Eli Yishai has withdrawn his hard-right Yachad party from the election race two weeks before the vote, in a boost for other small right-wing parties.
Yishai announced on Wednesday he would be supporting the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism party in the April 9 elections.
Yachad failed to clear the threshold and enter the Knesset in the 2015 elections. The party was polling below the 3.25 percent electoral threshold in recent opinion surveys conducted by Israel’s television networks and was frequently left off the polls altogether.

Hard-Right? Is that the type of language used on this website for a frum party. I don’t know what Rav Mazuz held originally. I hope this will be a big boost for UTJ.
The Party of Rabbi Mazuz is known to be the most Zionist group in the Hareidi-Yeshivish spectrum, being openly committed to fight for the wholeness of Eretz Yisroel (i.e. Hitnachlut) and he speaks often about how positive the State of Israel is for the frum community, vs most other Hareidi groups who try not to be vocal on those matters.
Fyi, Deputy Minister of Education – Rabbi Meyer Porush was the man who brokered the deal between Rabbi Mazuz Shlit”a and UTJ. Porush is assumed to be the most right-winged politician in the Ashkenazi Hareidi community (based on his speeches, deeds, etc. – p.s. his father MK Rabbi Menachem Porush Z”L attended the Mizrachi rallies against the withdrawal of Gaza – something Gafni, Derii and Litzman would never do).
