Elon Musk has shared with several people that he has been staying overnight at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) headquarters in Washington, DC, according to WIRED. The DOGE offices are located in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, just a short walk from the White House.

At an exclusive, formal dinner hosted by the Alfalfa Club last week, Musk told his colleagues that he had even received an invitation to sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom at the White House itself.

This revelation highlights how deeply Musk has integrated himself into former President Donald Trump’s circle and underscores the similarity between his current approach and the strategies he employed with Tesla and Twitter (now X).

When Tesla was experiencing particularly hectic periods, Musk was well-known for sleeping at the factory. “It was my primary residence,” he remarked in a 2022 interview with Ron Baron. He explained that this was a deliberate decision, aimed at being present for his employees. “This is important because if the team thinks their leader is off somewhere having a good time, drinking Mai Tais on a tropical island, which I definitely could have been doing… since the team could see me sleeping on the floor during shift change, they knew I was there, and that made a huge difference, they gave it their all.”
