A librarian working at Finkelstein Public Library was stabbed today after a fight broke out in the young adult section.

Employees were able to subdue the attacker, who has not been identified, and hold him down until police arrived to arrest him.

Hatzalah and Spring Vallet paramedics arrived at the scene to treat the patient, who was taken to the hospital. The victim, a woman named Sandra who worked as a security guard at the library, later succumbed to injuries, which included several stab wounds.

Spring Valley Police are investigating the events leading up to the attack to uncover possible motives. Police have not ruled out whether this was a domestic case.

  1. She is not a librarian, it was not in the YA section, the employees who helped were a mix of people, not exclusively Jewish. Thank you.
