Eric Adams, Brooklyn’s Borough President, announced today that he will be running for Mayor of New York on the Democratic ticket.

Eric boasts an impressive resume of 22 years in the NYPD, followed by four terms as a State Senator where he established himself as a fierce advocate for public safety.

Mr. Adams is appalled at the current dysfunction that the State of New York is entrenched in and urges New Yorker’s not to blame themselves for the current situation:

“If you’ve been the victim of a crime don’t tell yourself ‘I should have been more careful.’  Don’t tell yourself ‘I shouldn’t have been out so late.’  You deserve a safe New York.  You deserve a city where you feel secure all the time.”

He went on to express that New York currently has the ‘blame the victim’ mentality.  We have made peace with the dysfunction and blame ourselves for the mess New York has become.

“You are doing yours.  You are all paying your tax dollars.  It is the duty of your city to step up to the plate.”

Adams believes that the NYPD personnel are being used for clerical duties when their skills can be utilized to patrol the streets of New York.  He plans to shift the hierarchy and redistribute the duties within the NYPD.  That is just one-way Adams plans to tackle the rise in crime.

Adams will go on at length about government programs that could be fixed. The foster care system. Rehabilitating public housing. Education. Politically, he identifies as “a pragmatic progressive” who thinks “the term progressive has been hijacked” when the real progressives are people like him who promote dyslexia screenings in every school as a way to combat educational inequities.

Eric understands the people of New York because he’s been there.  As one of six children to working class parents, he is no stranger to hard work and struggle.

“What New York needs is a blue-collar Mayor.  A Mayor that is with the people.  A Mayor that’s been there.  A Mayor that understands.  A Mayor with callouses.”

Eric Adams is a candidate that is with the people all way.

  1. some of the right ideas and a lot of the wrong ideas.
while adding dyslexia screenings would help literacy mildly, it won’t solve the apathy of the teachers union.
it would also be a massive expense for a minimal benefit.
just allowing charter schools to create competition with the public schools in a meaningful way, and introducing a performance-based pay system for teachers would increase positive outcomes in a significant manner without a significant expenditure

  2. I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be a revoting for all elected officials once the fraud that occurred with Dominion voting machines will be publicized.

  3. The guy is way too liberal for me but I would vote for him anyway due to lack of better options.

He is from the few politicians to acknowledge that the anti-police rhetoric was a bad idea and caused a spike in crime.

Also a lot of the problems facing NYC that he says he will deal with are the same ones most frum people would say.For a liberal he is a good guy.
