Esther Pollard, the wife of Jonathan Pollard, has passed away early this morning after being rushed on Shabbos to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital’s COVID-19 intensive care unit after suffering from septic shock. She was 68.
Esther had been battling cancer and recently contracted corona. Her condition deteriorated on Shabbos.
Esther married Pollard over 30 years ago, while he was incarcerated, and worked unceasingly for years to gain his release.
The levayah will be held today at 4 p.m. at Har Hamenuchos in Yerushalayim.

Jonathan Pollard is a former intelligence analyst for the United States government sentenced to life in prison for supposed violations of the Espionage Act, making him the only American to receive a life sentence for passing classified information to an ally of the U.S. Pollard was released on November 20, 2015, On November 20, 2020, his parole expired and all restrictions were removed. On December 30, 2020, Pollard and Esther moved to Israel, settling in Yerushalayim.

What’s sad is that because she was triple-vaxed, as reported elsewhere, she lost her immune system and had no way of fighting her illness or any illness. That’s why there are so many seriously sick covid patients in hospitals – they all lost their natural immunity, H”Y.
