A huge project is underway: We are welcoming a new Sefer Torah into the private residence of HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky. Derech Emuna, the network of Kollels started by Rav achi Shalom Cohen, is overseeing the dedication.
People all over the world have begun donating letters, words, perakim, and columns for the new Sefer Torah to commemorate the memory of this Torah giant.
Rav Chaim’s passing opened a great void within the hearts of Klal Yisroel. We were privileged to live in the same generation as Rav Chaim, but now we are like orphans. We have lost our father, our Torah leader. Our hearts yearn to feel the warmth that his light left behind.
Now, thanks to Derech Emuna, you have such an opportunity.
You can unite Klal Yisroel as one. You can ensure that your name – and the names of your loved ones – will live on in perpetuity. You can merit the brachos for hatzlacha, parnassah, health, marriage, and yeshua. You can contribute to this Sefer Torah being written l’alui nishmas a Gadol BaTorah.
It is well known that Rav Chaim held the middah of “hakaras hatov” in very high regard.
Now you have a chance to show your Rav Chaim how much you loved him, how much you miss him, how much you want to show hakaras hatov through this new Sefer Torah.
How fortunate were we to enter into his sanctuary and experiencing his holy presence. How fortunate were we to ask him for a bracha and for yeshua. We have been blessed. We have been touched by Rabbi Chaim, z’tl. We had the privilege of feeling the treasures he bestowed in his private residence, the “Holy of Holies” of the Torah world.
The Sefer Torah will be used for minyanim that take place in Rav Chaim’s house. It will be housed in his personal study.
Anyone within Klal Yisrael can partner for one letter, one pasuk, one perek, one column, or an entire parsha. Letter by letter, we will write a Sefer Torah in memory of our Gadol HaDor.
Rav Chaim, zt’l, will intercede in Shamayim for those who bring a Sefer Torah into this world in his name.
Rav Chaim never owed anyone anything. When someone paid him a favor, he always made sure to pay them back extra.
If this was his trait in life, kal v’chomer, now that he is in Shamayim!
Plus, you even have the rare opportunity to write a letter yourself in the room of Rav Chaim, zt’l.
Donors who contribute a column to the Sefer Torah can enter the inner “Kodesh Kedoshim,” the room of Rav Chaim, zt’l. On the night of the dedication, you can be there, davening in the makom Torah where Torah and tefillah bounce off the walls.
Every Jew has the desire to fulfill the mitzvah of writing a Sefer Torah. Take advantage of this opportunity to do so in a way that anyone can afford.
