During a Senate intelligence hearing on the Russian hacks, FBI Director James Comey stated that there was successful penetration of GOP groups and campaigns and of some old RNC domains. “There was evidence of hacking directed at state-level organizations, state-level campaigns, and the RNC, but old domains of the RNC, meaning old emails they weren’t using,” he said. “None of that was released.”
The FBI chief further added that there was no clear sign “that the Trump campaign or the current RNC was successfully hacked.” He also stated that the hackers “got far deeper and wider into the DNC than the RNC,” and that “similar techniques were used in both cases.” Read more at CNN.
