The Food and Drug Administration’s quick review and approval of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine has nothing to do with its safety and effectiveness, Commissioner Stephen Hahn said Saturday while rejecting news reports that a White House official had threatened he’d be fired over the speed of the agency’s actions.
“I will absolutely take this COVID-19 vaccine, pending availability and distribution, because I have complete trust and confidence in the FDA’s career staff’s evaluation,” Hahn said during a press conference, reports CBS News.
“Efficiency does not mean any cutting of corners.”
Hahn said the FDA made the review process as “transparent as possible,” but he urged the public to remain vigilant because the immunization process will take a considerable period of time.

To be fair, the research on these vaccines are largely based on the research done during the SARS epidemic which really was COVID on a smaller scale.
One of the technical names given to the WuFlu is SARS-COV-2 whereas the 2003 outbreak would be referred to as SARS-COV or now in retrospect SARS-COV-1.
So I wouldn’t quite call it “rushed” it was 17 years in the making.
Yes, the work on the SARS-COV-1 was started 17 years ago; however, the work on this — what they told us was an “all new” excessively dangerous entity — current SARS-COV-2 could not have begun until the thingy first came out at around the beginning of this year. So its development has obviously been greatly “rushed,” and, yes, many crucial corners were cut. Having thus not been fully properly tested, there is no way that anyone can be confidently sure that it is safe to use.
For once, the FDA is telling the truth. This vaccine has undergone as much safety testing as all the vaccines that have preceded it. Sadly, this is because NO vaccine has ever undergone true scientific randomised double-blind testing against a fully inert placebo.
