The Food and Drug Administration’s latest report says to take extra caution when it comes to avocados due to bacteria and dirt within the peel.
Although you do not eat the peel, germs from your knife while cutting can affect both areas.
The FDA announced that federal investigators’ sampling found Listeria monocytogenes on the peels of about one in every five avocados. The new data is part of a 2014-16 study, in which investigators tested 361 domestic and imported avocado skins; 64 , or 17.73 percent, tested positive.

If this investigation concluded in 2016, why are we first hearing about these dangers only now? Why was the holy FDA withholding this information? What else are they covering up? The inherent dangers and side effects of vaccinations?
It took a while for Big Pharma to ok the uncovering of the danger of not washing avocados.
Nu, so don’t wash your avocado. What’s the worst that can happen? You die. So what, at least you will have resisted the evil FDA.
LOL!

Cantaloupes also should be washed with soap before cutting them. Since they are a low-acid fruit and their rinds are pocked, all kinds of nasty germs can be on their skins.
Sometimes it deals like fruit is more dangerous than candy
Produce should be washed to remove pesticides and insects, in addition to all the other things on them. Simple logic. Who d o e s n ‘ t wash before they prepare produce? Also after peeling, since during the peeling, one’s hands that touched the unpeeled parts touch the peeled parts.

exactly! in addition, the tests done by evil fda to test for pesticide levels are done on washed food. If you don’t trust their results with produce prepared as intended, imagine what they can be unwashed.
By the way, animals use definitely the fields and not the toilets (and workers sometimes use the fields too, and in other countries “human fertilizer” is still used, and manure is not sterile either).
you are forgetting to ask where they come from most are not from the US
