Following the extreme heat spell scorching the Middle East, Israeli firefighters were called on to some 1,300 locations of wildfires across the country.
The extreme weather also took its toll on citizens who suffered from heat strokes. Three people, 87 and 65 years old men and a 94-year-old woman, were hospitalized at the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba.
A record high temperature was recorded on Tuesday in the Dead Sea area at 48 Celsius (118.4 Fahrenheit). At Gilgal in the Jordan Valley temperatures followed closely with 47 Celsius (116.6 Fahrenheit).
