candle-small6Brooklyn, NY- A 15-year-old frum girl was struck and killed by a van Tuesday afternoon as she crossed the street in Flatbush.

At 2:49 p.m., police came to the intersection of East 7th Street and Avenue O after a report of a pedestrian struck by a car. They found Sarah Kishik lying unconscious and unresponsive in the street.

Police learned that a 2006 Ford Econoline van headed east on Avenue O struck Sarah as she crossed from the north side of the street to the south. Paramedics took Sarah to Maimonides Medical Center, but she had passed away.

The driver remained at the scene after the incident, and criminality is not suspected, police said. Police have not indicated whether citations or tickets have been, or will be, issued.

  1. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO DO TESHUVA, WE JUST LOST RAV BREVDA z”l among many many other Gedolim, did any one wake up and make some positive changes in their life?

Hashem is trying to wake us up to become closer to him to improve our Yiddishkit to him.

This girl z”l is another wake up call from Hashem.

Dear Matzav.com, please, I beg you not to post through the missionarry drivel/comments. Thank you.

Please don’t post this comment either. Thank you

  3. It always seems interesting when calamities happen and people write, “When are we going to get the message of teshuva?” It is all wonderful and we each should do a cheshbon hanefesh, but it gives the impression that, “Why doesn’t everyone ELSE fix their problems?”
We first have to fix ourselves and do our own teshuva before worrying if everyone else is doing theirs. For that we don’t need to tell others. Being on a blog doesn’t make us all gedolei hador with kol koreis.

In my ‘humble’ opinion, it seems more appropriate to just say it’s a message from Hashem.

I am inviting those to add their comments (or argue) to what I’m saying.

  4. #2&#, what was wrong with comment #1? He is merely quoting what Chazal say that any time something bad happens it is a wake up call for Tesuva. He is in the right and you sadly are in the wrong.
You would just like to go on with life as long as you are not affected and you have no desire to see whats happening and change your ways. Shame on people like you

  5. All those who have a problem with comment #1.You are obviously having a hard time accepting muusar. Its for everyone,no one in specific. You should actually thank him/her.Read the SEFER Gesher Chaim ,LEARN ABOUT GEHENNIM,ITS QUITE SCARY.Hatslocha Raba and relax!
