Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Saturday announced the creation of an Interstate 95 checkpoint on Florida’s northern border to screen motorists traveling from the New York City area, in an effort to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Saturday’s announcement came a day after DeSantis said he was setting up a similar checkpoint in Northwest Florida, targeting travelers from Louisiana.

The I-95 checkpoint is an expansion of screenings already underway at certain Florida airports aimed at people coming from the tri-state area around New York City, one of the nation’s “hot spots” for COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the virus.

  1. Our freedoms we once took for granted have been stripped from is without firing a single shot. Big government/Deep state have completely taken over our lives and imprisoned us. Don’t you see what’s happening to us?! Get off your stupid TV’s and filth. We are doomed.

    • Don’t YOU see what’s happening? Don’t you see how the elites and Deep State are hiding underground like rats or running off to other states and cities now that President Trump called up 1 million reservists “to combat corona virus”?

  2. Pretty dumb. The RBS”O has imprisoned us. Not the govt. Until we all get to message to change our ways, we will be incarcerated. It is obvious that He is not happy with as is. He threw us out of His shuls and mosdos.
Let’s do what we have to do and soon

    • I don’t have the kochos or the hadracha now to change. So does that make me an even greater sinner? All the wonderful idealistic talk about davening with great intense kavana in our homes now that we’re all couped up is absurd and totally unrealistic. Maybe those that have huge homes with many private rooms and offices can do that. But for most of us who live in small apartments with kn”h little kinderlach up and about, it’s impossible.

  3. Question:

Does the Governor of a State have the legal / constitutional authority to restrict interstate travel of U.S.A. citizens??

    Attorneys, out there, please respond.
