Florida To Close Bars After Shattering Record Of New Coronavirus Cases

Florida is shutting down bars in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus, after the state reported a single-day record of new infections.

The announcement did not come from the office of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), but from Halsey Beshears, the secretary of the agency that regulates Florida bars, who made the announcement via tweet.

Beshears said that on-premise alcohol consumption will stop immediately, effectively moving the state back to an earlier phase of reopening.

Florida shattered its single-day record of new coronavirus cases reported on Friday, adding an additional 8,942 confirmed infections, according to the Department of Health.

  1. Who care about infections? They mean nothing. The proper metric to use is hospitalizations and deaths, and it seems they are way down. Why all the hysteria? And by the way, wasn’t the whole purpose of the lockdowns to ‘flatten the curve’ so that hospitals wouldn’t be overrun? They are nowhere near capacity yet in these states. Somebody has to have the guts to say that the emperor has no clothes.

    • If you believe that it has anything to do with infections or hospitalizations, I have a bridge to sell you. Bars and other public places were closed because of Coronavirus criminals they’re pursuing. Deep State elite criminals are finally b”H being arrested or executed. This is what they’re after. This is 90% of their death count. Officially they say it’s infections and to wear masks and other nonsense but it’s only in order to keep the calm, do some investigation and you’ll find out that it’s all baloney.

    • all the hysteria is to justify keeping demented joe in the basement! corona wont allow debates or voter booth voting. ALL votes will be by mail and demented joe will win by 20-25 points! also demonrats will keep house and retake senate! we are royally screwed!
