Following a distressing incident involving Dovid Aryeh ben Bracha, a 7-year-old boy from Lakewood, NJ the manufacturer responsible for the candy he choked on has issued a product recall in response to the incident.
According to the family, Dovid Aryeh was consuming the candy when the internal white ball unexpectedly detached, and he accidentally swallowed it, causing him to choke.
Despite the efforts of Hatzolah paramedics, the ball could not be extricated from his throat.
Consequently, they had to carefully maneuver it further down to ensure his airway was cleared before transporting him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ
Upon examination at the hospital, a CAT scan revealed that the detached ball had entered Dovid Aryeh’s lungs, prompting emergency surgery to extract it.
Presently, Dovid Aryeh’s condition remains stable yet critical, and he is dependent on a ventilator to facilitate his breathing.
In a communiqué dispatched to all retailers stocking Roller Dipper and Roller Ball candies, the manufacturer acknowledged the existence of a safety concern associated with their products. The message emphasized the need for immediate action, urging storeowners to promptly remove these items from their shelves and arrange for their return during a subsequent delivery, assuring them of full credit reimbursement.
The aim is to prevent any further incidents that may endanger consumers, particularly children like Dovid Aryeh.
As Dovid Aryeh continues his arduous recovery journey, all are asked to daven for his refuah, while remaining vigilant regarding product safety.

Irresponsible and inaccurate “journalism,” which alas is something we should be used to with this site and publication.
The “manufacturer” didn’t say ANYTHING. The DISTRIBUTOR issued the “communiqué.”
Furthermore, if the acknowledged ANYTHING, I hope they have good lawyers because you NEVER EVER “acknowledge” something because that indicates guilt.
