The former head of U.S. cybersecurity Christopher Krebs on Tuesday filed a lawsuit against the Trump campaign lawyer who suggested that he should be “shot.”

The suit accuses attorney Joe diGenova and the Trump campaign of defamation and inflicting emotional distress, The New York Times reported. He alleges that he received death threats in tweets and emails, which forced him and his family to leave their home.

The lawsuit comes one week after Krebs said he was looking at “legal opportunities” over diGenova’s comments.

The attorney suggested that Krebs should be “taken out at dawn and shot” during an interview on “The Howie Carr Show.”

DiGenova has since claimed the comment was “in jest,” and told The Washington Post last week that he meant it as a joke.

Wow. As if the Republicans/conservatives have not suffered the same fate for how many years now. As if (for one example) Maxine Walters had not called out openly and publicly to her followers to harass everyone anywhere near Trump (and most certainly that was no jest). As if (for another example) the Trump Accountability Project (and most certainly that was no jest) has not publicly listed how many hundreds of names of anyone and everyone associated with Trump and (for example) publicly “warned” employers on the “consequences” on hiring any of these people. And so forth ad infinitum. And this guy can’t take a “joke”. He made himself a public figure when he came out publicly to contradict his boss in the middle of investigations – which, in fact, behaved like a blocker to deflect any incentive to hold an investigation. Maybe as someone involved in security he should have understood the security situation of all those Republicans/conservatives hounded because of his unsolicited statements.

  2. Just another instance of today’s liberalism disease. These types of comments are said in jest, and everyone knows that. The statement was NOT a death threat. But these days, anyone can sue for anything, and there are enough intellectually challenged potential jurors and judges to award them big money. I don’t believe the death threats baloney. But that’s today’s world.
