Bob Dole, the 1996 Republican nominee, endorsed Donald Trump on Friday after former nominees Mitt Romney, George H.W. Bush and George Bush did not.

“The voters of our country have turned out in record numbers to support Mr. Trump. It is important that their votes be honored and it is time that we support the party’s presumptive nominee, Donald J. Trump,” Dole said in a statement released by Trump’s campaign.

“I plan to attend the RNC convention in Cleveland to show my support for our party and our ticket, as I have done my entire life. We must unite as a party to defeat Hillary Clinton.” Read more at CNN.

  1. Dole is the only prior nominee for the Republicased that has thus far endorsed Trump. It takes someone with low mortals and a week backbone to make such a move. No one who stands for principles and believes in following an approach based on rational can support a man like this. It pains me deeply to see that there are those from “unzera” that seem to be failing this basic test.

  2. Morality is to not to honor once pledge to support the nominee. Honor is to not listen to the voter that overwelmly voted for? People are in governed with a mandate by the people and not to honor that isn’t democratic but tyranny.
