Rabbonim and askonim recently went out into wheat fields which have ripened after the rainy winter season in order to personally fulfill the agricultural mitzvos of leket, shichecha and peiah.
Among them were Rav Moshe Dovid Lefkovitz, a son of Rav Yehuda Michel Lefkovitz, and Rav Menasheh Zelicha, rov of Bnei Brak’s Pardes Katz section.
“After two years, the time has come when we can fulfill the mitzvos of leket, shichecha and peiah in the field, for last year was shemittah, when the land is not worked,” Rav Zelicha said.
