Kibbutz Nir Oz reported today the tragic murder of Gadi Haggai, a 73-year-old kibbutz member who was abducted to the Gaza Strip during the events on October 7.
Gadi, a father of four and grandfather of seven, was taken alongside his 70-year-old wife, Judi Weinstein, who remains in captivity and is wounded. Hamas is holding Gadi’s body.
The Headquarters of the Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum expressed, “Gadi was a humorous individual who had the ability to bring laughter to those around him. A passionate musician and skilled flutist, he contributed to the IDF Orchestra and dedicated his entire life to music.”
On the morning of October 7, while on a routine morning walk in the fields and vineyards of the kibbutz, Gadi and Judi were attacked. Judi managed to inform friends that they had been shot, and Gadi was critically injured; this marked the last contact with them.
