After weeks of rumors and whispers it became official: Israel’s Alternate Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benny Gantz announced Tuesday night that his party will back a motion to disperse parliament, potentially driving the Jewish state toward its fourth election in less than two years.
However, the Blue and White leader did leave Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an outlet, urging him to pass the state budget for 2021 in order to save the fragile unity government.
Gantz listed his center-left party’s achievements in the current coalition set up, attributing the West Bank annexation freeze and advancing normalization with the Arab world to his activity.
