developing-story1The Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, N.J. was evacuated this evening, Motzoei Shabbos, after a panic about shots being fired, New Jersey State Police said

State police later said a car fire outside the mall may actually have sparked the panic and perceptions of a shooting. But police were searching the mall in case there was any possible shooting victim or active shooter inside.

As of 9:30 p.m., there were no reports of injuries.

Several people tweeted about a chaotic scene in the mall after someone reported hearing shots, but further details about the incident were not immediately confirmed.
