When it comes to gas prices, what goes up isn’t supposed to be going up. The price at the pump has jumped about 20 cents in the Tri-State Area the past three weeks, with New York topping the $3 mark for the first time since May.
Normally at this time of year the cost drops because the summer travel season is over.
Analysts blame a number of factors, including a weak dollar which pushes up crude oil prices.
