Gedolei Yisroel have called for people to be mekabel Shabbos early as a zechus for a refuah for Rebbetzin Faiga Tzipora bas Hadassah Lau, the wife of the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel Rav Dovid Lau.
As readers may recall, in the middle of Pesach, Rebbetzin Lau was flown to Israel after feeling unwell on the Greek island of Crete, where she stayed with her husband, the chief rabbi, during the Yom Tov. This week, a tefillah rally was held at the Kosel as a zechus for her refuah.
In a letter written by Rav Yitzchak Zilberstein, who was joined by Rav Berel Povarsky and Rav Shimon Badani, the gedolim called on the early kabbolas Shabbos.
