George W. Bush is “in high spirits” following a successful surgery this morning. The 67-year-old, who, other than a low heart rate diagnosis, was pretty healthy during his presidency, was undergoing an annual physical Monday when his doctor discovered a blocked artery.
During today’s surgery they inserted a stent, or small tube, in the artery to open it up.
A Bush spokesman said the former president is “eager to return home tomorrow and resume his normal schedule on Thursday.” Read more at ABC News.
