Gerrer Rebbe Leaves for the U.S.

The Gerrer Rebbe, Rav Yaakov Aryeh Alter, has departed Eretz Yisroel as he begins a multi-week trip abroad first reported about here on Matzav.com. The Rebbe will be visiting the United States and Europe.

The Rebbe was slated to leave on a 1 a.m. El Al flight from Ben Gurion Airport.

Upon his arrival in the United States, the Rebbe will immediately go to Boro Bark, Brooklyn, where he will daven Shacharis at the Gerrer Yeshiva. During his first day in New York, the Rebbe is also scheduled to visit the Gerrer Mesivta Bais Yisroel in Boro Park. 

The Rebbe will remain in the U.S. until the end of the week, at which time he will head to Europe. The Rebbe is expected to visit Italy, where a dinner will be held to benefit Mosdos Gur, attended by supporters of the chassidus.
