Just In: The Gerrer Rebbe’s much anticipated trip to the United States and Europe is being abruptly cut short due to the ill health of the Gerrer Rebbetzin, Matzav.com has learned. The Rebbe had been scheduled, following this week’s visit to New York, to travel to Europe.
During the Rebbe’s four days in New York, the Rebbe has visited a number of rebbes, including the admorim of Satmar, Sanz, Munkatch and Bobov. The Rebbe also attended the wedding of a grandchild of the Novominsker Rebbe in Williamsburg and greeted hundreds of Chassidim in Boro Park.
The Rebbe will be leaving the United States today from Kennedy Airport at 2:30 p.m. and will arrive at Ben Gurion Airport tomorrow morning at 7 a.m.
The Rebbetzin had been hospitalized after falling ill, but her condition improved and she returned home. Despite the improvement in her condition, the Rebbe has made the decision to return to Eretz Yisroel immediately.
The Rebbe’s planned visit to France has been cancelled, but his visit to Italy in the interests of Mosdos Gur may take place at the end of next week.
