vote-buttonDear Friends:

Today, Tuesday, November 2, is Election Day. We urge all our constituents and friends to please go out and vote!

Your vote counts. It may help decide the outcome of a close election. And it will surely help the victors decide what to do after the elections.

The simple reality is that government officials look at which groups vote, and take their positions on the major issues of the day accordingly.

Communities that vote are communities that are listened to and heard. Securing political support with regard to the issues that affect us deeply – increased government aid to our educational institutions, the moral climate of society, improving the amount and quality of government services available in our neighborhoods – depends on each and every registered voter taking the time to go to the polls on Election Day.

So please, take the time to vote on November 2, for yourself . . . for your children . . . for your community . . . for Klal Yisroel.

  1. I plan on voting republican all the way
Against Cuomo, Schumer, Gilebrand, Schneiderman ……..
DO YOU STILL WANT ME TO VOTE ???????

  2. A Groisser Yasher Koach to Rav Zwiebel for his meaningful exhortation.

He explains that our vote is important for: ” . . . Securing political support with regard to the issues that affect us deeply . . . the moral climate of society . . . ”

This certainly means that we MUST NOT vote for the position of Governor of New York the candidate Mr. Andrew Cuomo, who has bragged that he wants to be the one to officially establish Toeiva “marriage” in the state.

For those people who live in California, this certainly means that we MUST NOT vote for the position of Lieutenant Governor of California the candidate Mr. Gavin Christopher Newsom, Yimach Shemo V’Zichro, who is immensely proud that he is the one who brazenly started the whole government performed Toeiva “marriages.”

This further means that we MUST NOT vote for the position of Governor of California the candidate Mr. Edmund Gerald — “Jerry” — Brown, who is also squarely in the camp of pro-Toeiva/Toeiva “marriage” and pro-abortion activism.

This further means that we MUST NOT vote for the position of U.S. Senator from California the candidate Mrs. Barbara Boxer, who is also squarely in the camp of pro-Toeiva/Toeiva “marriage” and pro-abortion activism.

In general, this exhortation from Rav Dovid Zwiebel means that we must not vote for those candidates who want to, Chas V’Shalom, promote further allowance and acceptance of Toeiva, abortion, and the other immoral corruptions that are ruining our world. Instead, we need to vote for those candidates who are (at least) closer to the ways of goodness that HaShem wants for the world.

Of course, along with the physical vote we put at the local ballot box, the main “vote” that we need to do is to, with full Kavanna, beg HaShem what He sets for us to say three times every day:

“Al Kein, N‘kaveh L‘cha HaShem Elokaynu, Liros Bim‘hayra B‘Siferes Uzecha . . . L‘Hafnos Ailecha Kol Rishay Aretz . . . ” – “Therefore, we hope to You HaShem Elokaynu, to quickly show with the glory of Your strength . . . to turn to You all the wicked of the earth . . . ”

If we want to add any additional prayers, what we begged HaShem on just this past Rosh HaShanna (and which also concludes what some Siddurim have as the Y’hee Ratzon before lighting the Neiros Chanuka), L’Aniyus Da’ati, should also be quite appropriate:

“Elokaynu Valokay Avosaynu, M’loch Al Kol HaOlam Kulo Bichvodecha!” – “Our G-D and G-D of our fathers, rule over the entire world completely with Your honor!”

May HaShem bring this to actually happen, Bimhayra Biyamaynu, Omein!!!

  3. I disagree. There is nothing close here in NYC. The same degenerate politictions will again and again. Schumer, Nadler, Weiner, Coumo, Gillibrand will be in power untill their dying day regardless of wether you vote for them or not! The term limits question is a joke & a farce! You saw how LORD mike broke the law & spit in the voters face. An uneducated voter should have his rights taken away from him! We can’t have a flood of dummies coming to the polling stations & voting like blind bats for any candidate that has a “D” before their name! Any one is better for the Heimisha community then those evil, wicked, family values Republicans!

  4. Mr. “Frustrated voter”:

Could you please explain how the “family values Republicans” are so “evil” and “wicked”? On the contrary, they are the ones who are trying to restore a little tiny bit of the values of basic decency and morality, which our own Torah instructs us, and which, until very recently, were the understood standards of all parts of human civilization. So it looks like these “family values Republicans” are, at least to some degree, the “good guys.”

By sharp contrast, the extreme liberal Democrats are the ones who have been pushing the breakdown of these moral values and standards with their promoting the legal acceptance of much of the worst immoral filth and corruption. So it looks like they are the ones who are, very unfortunately, trying to get into the tragic realms of “evil” and “wicked.”
