Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords called on lawmakers to “find the courage” to pass legislation following a deadly school shooting at a Florida high school.

Giffords posted a series of tweets after the shooting, saying the accounts of the incident “strike fear into all Americans.”

“Even in our grief, we must summon the courage to fight against this fear,” Giffords said. “We must find the courage to imagine a country where these massacres do not occur. Our leaders must find the courage to escape the confines of their politics & pursue the moral necessity of peace & safety.”

“Every day we fail to take action, we chose this fate. We tolerate politicians who fail to acknowledge this crisis and vote against our safety. We let our gun violence epidemic continue day after deadly day.”

    • “The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”
Whether that’s true or not, wouldn’t it be best if the bad guy never got a gun in the first place?

Instead of slogan chanting, lawmakers need to look at what can be done to prevent this type of horrific mass murder, which is becoming all too common.

  1. Liberals want to use this tragedy to further their gun control agenda and ban guns as if that’s going to stop all gun crimes. The criminals will always find ways to own guns.

    • You are a lemming. Democrats vote and are Americans. Why time out such a bad egg you became? Your own mother should be ashamed of partisan five year old banter and hate.

      Shame on your ballot.

  2. Nobody in this country should be allowed to own an assault rifle. It’s way too deadly and there’s no need for anyone to have one. If you want to go hunting, get a regular hunting rifle or a shotgun. For protection, you use a hand gun. And, YES, teachers and school personnel should be armed with hand guns. As we see in Israel, civilians with hand guns have many times ended terrorist attacks before they could escalate.

    • There is no such thing as an “assault rifle”. The term was made up by the gun-control fascists in order to confuse people who no nothing about guns. A pistol grip and other cosmetic features don’t make a rifle more deadly. Same kind of carnage can be committed with a hunting rifle, a shotgun, even a hand gun – as long as nobody shoots back, i.e. in a “gun free zone”.

    • You’ll be happy to know that this guy didn’t use an assault rifle, and that assault rifles are almost impossible to legally obtain since the 1930s! Also, the AR-15, which you think is an assault rifle (it’s not), is used a LOT for hunting. There are also AR-15 shotguns.

  3. Which legislation is she talking about? What law? Who wrote the law? Is it stuck in Congress? Nothing personal but what the hell is she talking about?
