Gilad Shalit, released from Hamas captivity in October 2011, met with families whose loved ones are currently held captive, as reported by Channel 12 News’ Daphna Liel on Monday.

During the meeting, Shalit shared insights into his own time in captivity, discussing how he navigated the challenging conditions and coped for survival. He conveyed to the families that it is indeed possible to endure such an experience and eventually recover.

Shalit emphasized the significance of meeting with the families to provide strength and support, expressing his commitment to assisting in the fight for the return of the hostages.

  1. Seems like no one else wants to say it, but 1000-1 caused this. Now it’s not his fault, it’s his father’s fault by pressuring the govt so much, but it’s still called the Gilad Shalit deal.
    To all those who may ask me “where is your heart”, it’s with any Israeli citizen who was and will c’v be affected by this soft on terrorism stance that Israel adopted.
    Now, if gedolim the likes of rav Elyashiv, rav Chaim sanctioned that trade,then I am machniya my puny saichel to theirs’.
