giuliani2Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani will appear on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight” on Monday and says he’s “more likely” to run for president in 2012 if former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin runs.

Host Piers Morgan teased his audience with a few quotes on Twitter from the upcoming interview. Giuliani is quoted as saying, “The more Republicans in which I can show a contrast, probably the better chance, the better chance that I have … My one chance, if I have a chance, is that I’m considered a moderate.”

Giuliani, who dropped out of the 2008 Republican presidential primary, said running against Palin for the 2012 GOP nomination would show him as a moderate Republican.

Giuliani also says he would concentrate on winning Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, sites of the first presidential nominating contests, since in 2008 he focused his resources in Florida and that didn’t work.

So is Giuliani serious about running?

“I will take a look at 2012,” Mr. Giuliani told Larry Kudlow on CNBC Thursday night. “It’s really a question of, can I play a useful role? Would I have a chance of getting the nomination? Those are things that I’ll have to evaluate, you know, as the year goes along.”
