Dear Matzav Readers,
As some of you have already heard, yesterday I announced that I will not seek another term in the New York State Assembly. My last 5 years as your Assemblyman, serving our families in southern Queens and Rockaway have been the greatest and most rewarding of my entire life. This was a difficult decision, but I am looking forward to the next chapter in my career and hopefully spending more time at home with my new son and entire family.
My work as an elected official has always been guided by the desire to ensure a better future for my three young children and for all our families. I’m truly humbled by the support I’ve received from voters, leaders in the community and my colleagues at all levels of government. Your partnership, but most importantly, your friendship has allowed us to rebound from Sandy, improve every neighborhood and create a stronger future for all.
In the meantime, I still have months of service that I owe the community. I fully intend to use this time to continue my work and fight for the issues that matter most. So, please call on me and my amazing staff if there is anything we can do to help!
