Rep. Mary Miller (R-Ill.), who was sworn into office on Jan. 3, told a crowd of protesters outside the Capitol on Tuesday that “Hitler was right on one thing.”

In front of a crowd of supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump, Miller said, “Hitler was right on one thing: He said, whoever has the youth has the future. Fill your children’s minds with what is true and right and noble, and then they can overcome evil with good because they can actually discern between what is evil and what is good.”

Margot McGowan Staebler, a law student at Michigan State University, posted the video on Twitter of the freshman congresswoman making the remark.

Jewish groups immediately censured Miller’s remarks.

“Hitler wasn’t right on anything—and invoking his name in this or any other context is wildly offensive & disrespects the millions who perished due to the Nazis’ hateful, genocidal regime. An apology is the least you can do for your constituents & our country,” tweeted Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt.

In a statement, World Jewish Congress executive director Betty Ehrenberg said: “Hateful rhetoric like this is unacceptable from an elected official chosen to stand up for freedom, democracy and equality. Shame on Cong. Miller.”

  1. Hitler yemach shemo was right about that and if we’re not allowed to discuss how he was able to get away with his plan then we’re doomed. The bad guys are discussing his tactics and we should know what we’re up against. It’s not anti Semitic to say that Hitler was able to take over a country because he had corrupted the minds of the youth

  2. Rep. Mary Miller is right and it’s these self hating Jews from these so called “Jewish organizations” (that stand for nothing Jewish) that are causing so much anti-Semitism.

  3. Oh really? Hitler was just paraphrasing a famous quote from Aristotle and Jesuits “Give me a child for 7 years and I’ll give you the man”. How many politicians and high school graduation speeches say the same sentiment :the youth are the future.Just because Hitler said it doesn’t make it false. These Democrat politicians and leftist Jews are crazy.

  4. The Anti-Defamation League and the World Jewish Congress are making a supposed “problem” out of absolutely nothing. Of course, it totally goes without saying, that we vehemently hate and condemn and curse Hitler, Yimach Shemo V’Zichro, and all the other hyper-evil-villains of human history. As completely evil as they all were though, it is still understandable that many, many times, they did say remarks that were totally correct!

For example, we can be sure that every one of them, at more than one time or another, remarked that it is important for a person to get up in the morning. That remark is, of course, totally correct and is a remark that is probably said BY EVERYONE! Of course though, the bad people though use it for bad; i.e., when they wake up in the morning, they use their waking time to do bad things. L’Havdil, the good people use it for good; i.e., when they wake up in the morning, they use their waking time to do GOOD things.

Now, Hitler’s remark: “whoever has the youth has the future,” is a remark that is totally correct; it is EXACTLY what we ourselves emphatically say! We well know of ourselves how we all put tremendous efforts into the care and raising up of our children. Of course though, Hitler used the concept for bad, as he thus raised up a massive program of “Hitler Youth,” in which children were directed to spurn their parents and their parent’s moral standards and, instead, be totally loyal to Hitler and his evil Nazi ways. L’Havdil, we use the concept for good, as we put tremendous efforts into giving our children excellent Chinuch to be totally loyal to Hashem and His Torah.

    • Indeed I am sure Hitler would have correctly computed the area of the circle, yet no one says “As Hitler wrote…” except for admirers of that lowlife. I’ll stay away from them.

  5. Would a Gadol consider her remarks acceptable or inappropriate? Hitler Yimach Shmo was an evil Rasha. He carried out his terrible deeds thru complex implementation of human psychology and detailed cunning misguided strategy. Great noble good people with extraordinary human psychology and strategy skills accomplished great good. These same powerful tools and skills are at the discretion of the holder to use for good or evil.

  6. Hitler was right on that as well as his claim that the Jewish People serve as the conscience of the world. Johnathan Greenblatt does not represent authentic Jewry, and he’s wrong in this case. It is especially disturbing, because this woman was obviously against Hitler, by implying he was wrong on all else. There is a well known adage, and common sense dictates, to learn from your enemies. That does not condone their actions in the least. Moreover, she was advocating we teach our youth goodness, to oppose evil, and the mob understood she was referring to them. She was. Interesting that they have a reflexive assumption that they are evil. It seems that they are more in tune with reality than we give them credit for.

  7. Absolutely NOTHING wrong with what she said! She’s saying the left today has the youth by controlling colleges, and Hitler did radicalize his country by being right about that effect!
