Grandson Born to the Belzer Rebbe

belzer-rebbe-15The Belzer Rebbe, Rav Yissochor Dov Rokeach, is celebrating the birth of a grandchild, born this morning. The baby is the thirteenth child of the Rebbe’s only son, Rav Aharon Mordechai Rokeach.

Rav Aharon Mordechai’s wife is a daughter of the Makova Rebbe.

The baby is a great-grandson of the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak, the Yeshuas Moshe zt”l, the Belzer Rebbe’s father-in-law.

The shalom zachor will be held this Shabbos in Kiryas Belz, Yerushalayim.

The bris will iy”H be held next Friday, a week from today. The baby is expected to be named Elchonon after Rav Elchonon Halpern zt”l of London, Radomishla Rov from London, a great-grandfather of the baby, who was recently niftar. Rav Halpern was the father-in-law of the Makova Rebbe, grandfather of the baby.

Meanwhile, Belzer chassidim are preparing for the wedding of Rav Aharon Mordechai’s third child, slated to be held during the month of Sivan.

  1. There is no simcha in Klal Yisrael like Simchas Beis Belz!! B”H this is a huge simcha. The Belzer Rov is one of the biggest tzaddikim of our generation. When the Rov is b’simcha the chassidim are also b’simcha and vice versa… I really hope that I’ll be able to say mazel tov to the Rov and his son tonight by the Shalom Zachor.
