hershele-rokeachThe Belzer Rebbe, Rav Yissochor Dov Rokeach, is celebrating the engagement of his grandson, Avrohom Shmuel Tzvi (Hershele) Rokeach, son of the Rebbe’s only son, Rav Aharon Mordechai Rokeach.

Hershele is Rav Aharon Mordechai’s second son. The chosson‘s older brother, Sholom, who is named after the Sar Shalom, got married last year.

The chosson‘s mother is a daughter of the Makova Rebbe. The chosson is a great-grandson of the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak, the Yeshuas Moshe zt”l, the Belzer Rebbe’s father-in-law.

The 17-year-old chosson is a talmid of the Belzer Yeshiva in Yerushalayim.

The kallah, Shifra Leah Rechnitzer, a student of the Seret-Vizhnitzer Seminary in Haifa and Bais Malka-Belz in Bnei Brak, is a daughter of Rav Meir Dov Rechnitzer, rov of Kehillas Belz in Chaifa and rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Belz in Chaifa.

The tenaim will be held this coming Sunday in Kiryas Belz, Yerushalayim, in conjunction with a tish marking the 57th yahrtzeit of Rav Aharon of Belz zt”l.

  1. Response to Mr. Normal(?????),#1,
Finally a nice story that is just pleasant Simcha by Yidden: why does that seem indifferent to you?
No killings, no deaths, no sinaas Yisrael (bar yours!!) rather a nice simcha! The Gemarah likens one who is mesaameach a chossin and kallah to the rebuilding of one of the churbanos of Yerushalyim. So this type of news event – the building of another Yiddishe Shtub – does have some chashivus in Himmel! So wish a Mazel Tov and move on! Don’t be indifferent to Yiddishe Simchos! Not nice!

  2. #9 There are engagements left and right b’h. Are they all not worthy of being mentioned? It’s not a “Nice story”, it’s a simcha and there are simchas galore….should we be mentioning all of them?

  3. #10, Mr. Anonymous, gezunterheit! Post all simchos! They actually do post the simchos at the other site! If it bothers you that the Belzer’s ainekel is reported, hey, don’t read it! When they posted Rav Malkiel’s simcha or Rav Chaim Kanievski’s simcha did that bother you too?? I’m sorry that these simchos agitate you!

  4. Mazal Tov to the couple.
Thank you Mr Commenter 1 for reminding us that we are all extremely special. Perhaps indeed the “normal” average goy who does not know personally the couple or their families may not care too much for the news of an engagement. But even a nonjew should be aware that we all care for each others and feel like family to each others.

  5. All those commenting negative, please stop. Nobody needs to hear your negative input.
Mazel tov! For all those who don’t know the Belzer story, it’s a very interesting story, I don’t remember all the details, but it was that the Rebbe waited a long time to have a kid and he had one son. When that son (the chosson’s father) got married, it was a major simcha in the Belzer Dynasty. It meant that the dynasty was continuing. When that son had a son, it was a major simcha because there was someone now to keep on the dynasty of Belz. When the eldest got engaged and married last year, it was a major simcha. Now, the second son got engaged, it’s major simcha for Belz that the dynasty is being built up again.

  6. Like it or not ,we have our Nobility and therefore whatever happens in their court is of interest to all Yiden,Mazal Tov !

  7. Happy people and unhappy people see the world through two completely opposing views. Negative people always complain about anything and everything. Positive people take pleasure in the success of others and celebrate these milestones and accomplishments.

There is no reason to offer validation and over-think this simcha. Our Torah values guide us to be happy for each other – whether we know them or not. It is beyond the pale, when people are bothered upon hearing a simcha and take the time to comment negatively. If there are those among that can’t feel joy for another Jew, we wish them well in their negative egotistic world and pray for their emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Heartfelt mazal tov wishes to the families! May we always share simchas in klal yisrael!

  8. The simcha of Tu B`av was that the shvoitim were able to intermarry. Although not everyone mixes shvotim but we still should be happy for any shaivets simcha.
