Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said in a 2020 video that she would not take down a statue of Adolf Hitler or “Satan himself.”

The comment comes amid a flurry of backlash after Greene repeated claims comparing mask policies to the holocaust.

In a newly discovered video of the then-candidate in 2020, Greene argues that she would disagree with removing a statue of Hitler, despite the Nazi leader and others representing “something I would fully disagree with.”

“We’re seeing situations where Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, all kinds of statues are being attacked, and it seems to be just an effort to take down history. And whether I see a statue that may be something that I would fully disagree with like Adolf Hitler, maybe a statue of Satan himself, I would not want to say take it down,” Greene said in the video first reported by Punchbowl News.

She said she would want the statues to remain intact “so that I could tell my children and teach others about who these people are, what they did and what they may be about.”

  1. Im not here to say if she should be censured or not, but I do think it’s wrong to expect a woman from some hic town in Georgia to have the same feelings about the holocaust like Eli Wiesel.

  2. She is a confirmed, malignant & open Anti-Semite!! Would emulate Hitler, YM’S’ of the 1930’s, if given the opportunity & the power.
She should be “put on the carpet; by All Members of the House; sanctioned & voted out of Membership!!
The likes of her has no business being a member of Congress!!
The fact that she was elected, just goes to show you in what a “sea” of ‘closet’ as well as open, Anti-Semites us Jews are living amongst in ‘Free’ America!!

  3. Greene’s statement when taken out of context sounds terrible, but in context where she compares him to Satan changes the whole thing with her statement being a simple argument against taking down statues and in no way is pro Hitler. The headline on this article is misleading in that it quotes her out of context.

    • This is and excellent analysis of Mrs. Green’s remarks. The title of this article is a gigantic misquote as IT OMITS the words she said right before her mention of Hitler: ” . . . . may be something that I would fully disagree with like Adolf Hitler”; she clearly said there that she fully disagrees with Hitler!! And, as you point out, the title also omits the next words she said: “maybe a statue of Satan himself,” which clearly implies that she is putting Hitler in a league that is pretty close to that of the Soton!!

Now, in the article itself, it certainly does mention and quote these crucial two other parts of her statement (of DISAGREEING with Hitler and mention of the Soton), but as the title omits them, the title is a huge deception that is totally unfair to her.

Then, the article, obviously correctly and what it probably should have done right at its beginning, presents Mrs. Green’s entire statement. Once we see the entire statement, we immediately see — like you and the next comment also pointed out — what is her whole context of her remarks. Her remarks are not any discussion about Hitler & the Nazis; rather, they are about the terrible current phenomenon of ripping down countless statues of even numerous GOOD people, like Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and many others who played major roles in the developments of the American world.

  4. For the English comprehension challenged: the subject of her speech was not hitler, but the socialist-fascist statues take-down, which goes hand in hand with book-burning and history-editing. Her point was that if we take down all reminders of evil in history, then this same evil will have easier time repeating itself. That is the reason why all flavors of socialist-fascists love history editing, as the ignorant people are so much easier to bamboozle into following the consistently-failed socialist dogma. Marjorie Green is saying the right things, but she needs to polish her verbal strategy in order to minimize the misinterpretation. Also, she should use mockery to actively attack the socialist-fascists in her speeches, instead of exposing herself to misinterpretation by passively talking about her personal opinions. A best defense is a good offense.

    • Very Correct Observation. It needs to be heavily pointed out that, as you noted, the ones who are knocking over the statues are severely wicked people of the extreme left. They want to bang down and blank out virtually all of our country’s past history & heritage. They fully supported and joined with their “colleagues” and “cousins” in Antifa and Black Lives Matter in their hyper-riots last summer of violent bashing and pillaging and murdering and setting ablaze vast areas of our nation’s cities. So they obviously want to tear up most of our country’s current heritage & culture too. If they had the power and the ability, they would certainly not hesitate to, Chas V’Shalom, inflict much harm on us.
