Boro Park, Brooklyn – NYC Councilman David Greenfield appeared on Talkline with Zev Brenner on Motzoei Shabbos to speak about the issue of parking in Boro Park on Erev Shabbos.
Councilman David Greenfield announced that the DOT has agreed to install Muni-Meters on the entire metered stretch of 16th Avenue in Boro Park, from 44th Street to 54th Street, in a pilot program. New parking signs will end metered parking requirements on Friday at 5 p.m. instead of the usual 7 p.m. for the rest of the week.
By ending metered parking at 5 p.m., Shabbos observant individuals will always be able to place an hour’s worth of quarters in the meter, as Shabbos never begins before 4 p.m.

This is better than the original idea of the 3 hr. meter for Friday. It makes it cheaper for the summertime too, unless it’s only sha’os zmaniyos.
I can’t believe Bl$$mberg will allow this. Why should he, when he can stick it to the Frummah?!
I guarantee you 100% that there will still be tickets and meshugoyim in Brooklyn yelling Anti-semitism as always. There are just certain people that are always bitter and can never be made happy.
