The Lakewood community continues to grow by leaps and bounds and the demand for new schools to cater to the many new families moving in is strong.

The newest Talmud Torah to open, Toras Yisroel, will be an elementary school for boys led by a group of mechanchim and Baalei Batim who put in a lot of effort to establish this mosad al derecho Yisroel saba, with an emphasis on Mesorah of yesteryear as well as secular department that meets the needs of the time.

The fledgling Mosad is launching a 36 hour fundraising campaign to give supporters the opportunity to contribute to the success of the mosad at the ground floor, and become partners in the success of the school for many years to come.

  1. We need more schools everywhere. Here in Brooklyn there is a lack of schools as well. I know multi millionaires can’t get their kids into schools because there is no space. It’s a problem no matter where you are.

    • Not sure where in Brooklyn you are, but Brooklyn schools actually have plenty of space. Everyone is moving to Lakewood. Heard this from school administrators. They are all suffering, and not from lack of space.

      • You are correct with mostly boys yeshivas in Brooklyn that are litvish or heimish and not Chassidish like satmar etc. But girls schools are packed. Thirty kids per class in flatbush. There is a major move of boro park and flatbush going to parts of monsey or Toms River but it seems there are more girls than boys left in Brooklyn among non chassidish crowd.

  2. I just heard if someone in monsey gave a hundred thousand dollars to this Yeshiva to get their kid in. It’s becoming crazy. A sandwich being sold for a thousand dollars recently reported on matzav. I guess food and tuition are getting expensive.
