dallas shootingA man in an armored vehicle who opened fire on Dallas police headquarters this morning was shot and killed by police. The suspect, self-identified as 50-year-old James Boulware (his identity has not been confirmed by police), led officers on a car chase that ended in the city of Hutchins. He had threatened to detonate explosives because police “took his child and accused him of being a terrorist,” according to Dallas police Chief David Brown. No injuries have been reported so far. A pipe bomb was found in at least one of four bags hidden around police headquarters.

A man with the same name was arrested in 2013 after he obtained firearms, ammunition and body armor and threatened to attack his family, churches and schools. That case was dismissed last year after he fulfilled the requirements imposed on him by a court.

The suspect’s vehicle had a Georgia license plate and appears similar to a van sold by Jenco Sales Inc. in Newman, Ga. The company’s Facebook describes the vehicle as follows: “Zombie Apocalypse Assault Vehicle and Troop Transport. This full armored zombie busting vehicle features convenient gun ports so no zombie juice touches you during a mass zombie take down. It also has benches in the back so you can take turns resting during long Zombie sieges. The tactical step boards are installed for when you only need swords and axes for drive by mow downs. The bumpers are made of reinforced steel tubing, so no dents from smashing zombie heads! It’s full armor plated and has bullet proof windows just in case you run into other zombie hunting hordes who might try to take this bad boy from you. Like anything, there is a price attached to this fine piece of zombie fighting machinery.” Read more at the Dallas Morning News.
