moshe-reisman-picIt is with great sadness that we report the passing of habochur Yisroel Moshe Reisman z”l, son of Rav and Rebbetzin Yaakov Reisman of Far Rockaway. Rav Reisman is the rov of Agudas Yisroel of Long Island.

Moshe, as the niftar was known, was a neshamah tehorah who experienced tremendous nisyonos during his lifetime. Despite his limitations, he brought great joy and taught lifelong lessons to the many people who knew him, both as a talmid at Yeshiva Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway and a member of the community in general.

Back in May, Moshe received an award from Hatzolah of the Five Towns at its annual dinner in recognition of his efforts on their behalf.

Over 1,000 people gather yesterday at Agudas Yisroel of Long Island on Sage Street in Far Rockaway for the emotional levaya, as the community came out en masse to accompany this pure and holy neshamah on its final journey.

Moshe was 31 years old. He was a grandson of Rav Mordechai Gifter zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland.

Moshe is survived by his parents, Rav Yaakov and Rebbetzin Chaya Reisman; and his siblings,
R’ Shaya Reisman, R’ Chaim Asher Reisman, R’ Avrohom Yitzchok Reisman, R’ Shmuel Zalman Reisman, R’ Boruch Reisman, Mrs. Leah Beer, Mrs. Hindy Mizrachi, Mrs. Luby Meth, Mrs. Chany Finkelman, and Faiga Reisman.

The family is sitting shivah at 137 Lord Avenue, off Bayview Ave, in Lawrence.

Yehi zichro boruch.

  1. A Korban Olah!
It’s hard when somebody passes away and yet harder when it”s a special child! May he be a mailitz yosher for us all!

  2. will this tragedy wake us up to start doing teshuva? or are we just going to say its coincidence that a innocent 31 year old boy was JUST NIFTAR & IT JUST HAPPENED TO BE?

ITS UP TO YOU, ME & EVERYONE ELSE to prevent these tragedies from happening. i.e. all these tragic events going on could all be prevented if we take Hashems wake-up messages for teshuva & do something about it.

MAY WE ALL DO TESHUVA ASAP SO MASIACH CAN COME BEFORE TISH B’AV

  3. His family treated him with tremendous love, as did the mispallelim in the Agudah shul.
May the family have strength to take care of their other children as they did for Moshe.
