According to a report from the Saudi news outlet Al-Hadath, Hamas is demanding the return of the body of its slain leader, Yahya Sinwar, as part of the initial phase of the hostage agreement.
In exchange for approximately 33 hostages, Israel is anticipated to release hundreds of Palestinian security prisoners as part of the developing deal.
Sinwar, who was responsible for planning the October 7, 2023 attack, was killed by Israeli forces in southern Gaza in October.
