HaRav Berel Povarsky Shlit”a makes urgent unscheduled trip to the USA for the plight of over 30,000 Chinuch Atzmai Kiruv children.
For the first time in history, Ravv Berel (Boruch Dov) Povarsky has left his Yeshiva and cancelled his shiurim to travel to the United States on behalf of the Chinuch Atzmai Kiruv children whose future is in imminent danger. The elderly Rosh Yeshiva, a member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah, has proclaimed that this is a situation of Piku’ach Nefesh, and therefore he must close his Gemara to do what he can for these children.
At present, the Keren Kiruv of Chinuch Atzmai, which is a lifeline for over 30,000 Kiruv students from unaffiliated homes throughout Eretz Yisroel, must urgently raise an additional $2 million in the next few days in order to prevent a catastrophic collapse of its operations.
The Rosh Yeshiva, together with Rabbi Mordechai Karelitz – the Director of the Keren, held numerous meetings to appeal to the hearts of Klal Yisroel to come to the rescue, but unfortunately the danger is still looming by two million dollars. In addition, other Gedolei Yisroel including HaRav Shimon Galai, HaRav Aharon Feldman, HaRav Aryeh Malkiel Kotler, HaRav Yeruchem Olshin, and others accompanied the Rosh Yeshiva to these meeting and added their own heartfelt pleas to those present.
On Motzaei Shabbos, the Rosh Yeshiva will address the keynote session at the Agudas Yisroel Convention with an impassioned plea to Klal Yisroel to see each one of these children as their own.
