This coming Sunday and Monday, Hatzolah will raise $1,000,000 in 36-hours! In a remarkable show of appreciation for the life-saving efforts of the heroes of Hatzolah.

Williamsburg – The thousands of residents living in and around Williamsburg owe a great debt of gratitude to the members of Hatzolah. The members, who time and time again show their enormous self-sacrifice by dropping everything at any given time to rush out and battle the angel of death. If we would start recounting anecdotes of every life-saving mission, we would quickly run out of space. It is doubtful that there is even a single family who has not experienced the compassion and dedication of these selfless heroes.

Although the current pandemic has brought their heroic actions to the forefront, the simple truth is that we cannot grasp the scope of their contribution to the Williamsburg community. Yes, everyone is aware that a call for Hatzolah never goes unanswered. Everyone knows of their record-breaking response time. We are all cognizant of their sacrifice every day when a member drops everything and runs to save the life of a fellow Yid. What we do not realize is the extent of their devotion. How many families are continuously dependent on Hatzolah to respond within minutes every time they call. How many individuals rely on Hatzolah’s prompt response to save their lives time and time again. These addresses and phone numbers become imprinted in the heroic member psyche as they visit those premises again and again.

We may see them as angels of mercy, but the truth is, they are human beings who deal with emotions like the rest of us. At the end of the day, when they return home, they are left with a shattered heart and a torn soul. The sheer amount of heart-wrenching tears and anguish they witness every day is mind-boggling. During the Coronavirus pandemic, they received more calls in two weeks than they receive during an entire year! Every minute a new case. Thousands of people struggling to breathe, begging Hatzolah members for a little bit of air so they can survive. Hundreds of families looking to Hatzolah for a modicum of reassurance everything will be ok.

These heroic members of Hatzolah risk their lives every time they take a call. No amount of safety measures can guarantee their immunity. Yet still, they run out again and again with compassion and heart for the chance to save the life of a neighbor. Just imagine the strain on their family members who await with bated breath the safe return of their hero.

Does this not invoke our utmost appreciation? Does this not deserve a demonstration of our deepest admiration for such selfless individuals? If Hatzolah members would accept payment, would we even be able to name a price? What is the value of life? They do not take a single penny for their sacrifice, but we can still show our appreciation by enabling Hatzolah to continue serving the residents of Williamsburg.

Remember, a million dollars for Hatzolah is a million dollars for you. All the funds go toward one goal ensuring the health of the thousands of residents in Williamsburg.

This is the time of year where Hatzolah typically hosts its annual party, which is their most significant source of annual revenue. Unfortunately, this year due to the situation. Now Hatzolah is left with twice the expenses with none of the income. The budget has significantly increased due to the need for expanded safety measures.

Help Hatzolah continue their life-saving efforts. A campaign to raise $1,000,000 in 36-hours is now live. Williamsburg will get a chance to show their gratitude by helping Hatzolah reach their goal and ensuring their continuance.
