The head of the Shin Bet security service, Nadav Argaman, met recently with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in an attempt to persuade him to agree to accept tax money collected by Israel on the PA’s behalf, according to a Saturday report by Channel 12 news.
Abbas has refused to accept the funds because Israel was withholding money to match the sums the PA pays to the families of terrorists.
Israel has several times reportedly tried to transfer $182 million to the PA, but the transactions were rejected. Jerusalem is concerned that if the PA collapses, it will destabilize the West Bank.

The underlying feature of the Judenrat is the refusal to accept victory, as that means that Hakodosh Boruch Hu is in charge and granted us a neis. Hence the Judenrat’s insistence on status quo: if Hamas takes over in Yehuda and Shimron, then it will be an open war with Israel being attacked on both sides, and there’ll be no choice other than complete elimination of Hamas, and a reluctant acceptance of the victory. Hence, idiotic Judenrat doing everything to keep PLO on life support.
