Health Department Says The Flu Is Running Rampant In New York

The state Health Department says there have been over 1,800 confirmed cases of influenza in 54 counties and all boroughs of New York City. More than 600 required hospitalization.

  1. would love to know how many of the 1800 received the flu shot and would love to know how many of the 600 that were hospitalized received the flu shot

    • While it may be true that this year’s flu shot is about 50% effective this season depending on the strain one is exposed to, it is still better than nothing, as there are no harmful side effects to the flu vaccine, and enough people vaccinated provide “herd immunity” greater than individual immunity might be. But hey, if you’d rather risk flu complications than a vaccine, that’s your call, enjoy. Look up Spanish Flu, if you think it’s a harmless disease.
