“Heartbroken”: US Demands ‘Immediate And Thorough’ Probe Of Palestinian Journalist’s Death In Jenin

The US has demanded an “immediate and thorough” investigation into the killing of American-Palestinian Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh during an IDF raid in the West Bank city of Jenin, Jacob Magid reports at Times of Israel.

“We are heartbroken by and strongly condemn the killing,” says US State Department spokesman Ned Price. “Those responsible must be held accountable,” he tweeted, stopping short of assigning blame. “Her death is an affront to media freedom everywhere.”
