helen-thomasHelen Thomas, who said that Jews in Judea and Samaria should go “home” to Poland and the United States, heads the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s 2010 list for the top anti-Semitic slurs.

“Never before, in recent memory, has the Simon Wiesenthal Center seen such a proliferation of anti-Semitism going mainstream,” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder and dean of the Center. “Our list of top ten anti-Semitic slurs runs the gamut of well-known personalities including journalists, government officials, celebrities, a prominent film director, and academics.”

He added that the list belies the idea that anti-Semitic statements come from the lunatic fringe. “In fact, [they] been bought into by major elements of Western society,” Rabbi Hier concluded.

The worst slur was attributed to Helen Thomas, a veteran White House journalist who was fired after she was recorded as saying, “Jews should get the — out of Palestine. They should go home to Germany, Poland, America and everywhere else.”

The daughter of Lebanese immigrants recently commented, “Congress, the White House, Hollywood and Wall Street are owned by Zionists. They put their money where their mouth is.”

The number two ranking was filled by film director Oliver Stone, who stated during the year, “Hitler is an easy scapegoat throughout history and it’s been used cheaply…. Hitler did far more damage to the Russians than the Jewish people…. “There’s a major lobby in the United States,… the most powerful lobby in Washington.”

Former Malaysian Premier Mahatir Mohammad filled the number three slot for stating ;last January that Jews “had always been a problem in European countries. They had to be confined to ghettoes and periodically massacred…. Even after the massacre by the Nazis of Germany, they survived to continue to be a source of even greater problems for the world.”

The recent claim by Palestinian Authority Deputy Minister of Information that the Jews have no connection with the Temple Mount or the Western Wall won him the fourth place. The United States denounced his comments, which were posted on the official site of the Palestinian Authority, committed in writing to stop incitement and anti-Israel slander.

Next on the list is German Central Bank executive Thilo Sarrazin, who stated in August, “All Jews have a certain gene … that makes them different from other people.”

Number six was European Union Chief Trade Negotiator Karel de Gucht, who stated in September, “…Don’t underestimate the power of the Jewish Lobby on Capitol Hill. … You shouldn’t underestimate the grip it has on American politics, no matter whether it’s Republicans or Democrats.”

CNN journalist Rick Sanchez was next in line for saying on the air, “He’s [Jon Stewart] upset that someone of my ilk is almost at his level… I’m telling you that everyone who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they, the people in this country who are Jewish are an oppressed minority?” He added sarcastically, “Yeah.”

The last three slurs were by a Lithuanian official, a British journalist and messages on social networks.

“The [Nuremberg Trial was] the biggest legal farce in history… the legend about six million supposedly murdered Jews acquired a legal basis, even though the court did not have a single document signed by A. Hitler concerning the extermination of Jews…,” remarked

Dr. Petras Stankeras, a Lithuanian historian and government adviser.

Christina Patterson, who works for the London Independent wrote last year. “I didn’t realize that goyim were about as welcome in the Hasidic Jewish shops as Martin Luther King, Jr. at a Ku Klux Klan convention. I didn’t realize that a purchase by a goy was a crime to be punished with monosyllabic terseness or that bus seats were a potential source of contamination or that road signs and parking restrictions were for people who hadn’t been chosen by G-d.”

Rounding out the list were messages, such as these posted, on Yahoo Finance and Goldman Sachs message boards: “[Curse]  jew-s; bernanke and geithner’s free money scheme to the banks destroyed the value of the rational americans savings, and of the chinese economic development of asia.” “And what do ya know, Golden Slacks the leading jewry criminal organization!!! Where`s the Gestapo when you reall need them???” “I never hated people before.Today I hate the guts of JEWS. The JEWS have poisoned America. They have poisoned good people.

“I never would have thought that I would hate the JEWS. For what teh JEWS have done to Americans, it is unforgiving…[sic].” “Irony how US always bail out the jews & jews end up [hurting] USA!!!….Stinking Jews finally getting what they deserve Burn all the jews up.”

The Wiesenthal social message anti-Semitic slurs included a Facebook message that stated, “Kill a Jew Year” and “Kill a Jew Day,’ and a Twitter message stating, “Droppin bows on jew nose, throwin cracks at wetbacks and pullin triggers on filthy…. well you get it.” “mrs. clinton runs scared of wars crimes by isreal the jewish vote rules the usa, usa is not a free minded places a control lap dog of isreal.”

  1. Unbelievable. Mahatir Momhammad says Jews were a problem for Europe? I’ve never heard of Jews rioting in France or protesting violently because some cartoonist defamed Moses or committing suicide bombings against those who oppressed them or saying that “those who insult Judaism should be beheaded” or advocating attacks on Muslim countries or defacing mosques/churches or kidnapping/robbing/stabbing people. Is there no sanity left in the world? Jews did nothing but good for Europe and the world. This clown doesn’t bother to mention the greats like Einstein and Salk. Honestly, Zionism isn’t a threat to anyone. It only asserts that we have a right to our homeland. It is like any other form of nationalism. Muslim extremism on the other hand is a severe threat to the entire globe as we’ve seen. I can name maybe two Jewish extremists (Amir and Goldstein) but compare that to the thousands of Muslim terrorists. His comment and those of the others on this sad list are pathetics, hypocritical, woefully ignorant but not unexpected. Unfortunately, this is nothing new and we should expect more of it to come.

  2. Oh and in response to Helen Thomas: Maybe Arabs should go back to Saudi Arabia. After all, they illegally colonized the Holy Land (though they were better than the Christians who occupied it) way back when. Jews were there very long before Islam even existed and before Islamic imperialism stretched across the Mid East to make natural populations into second class “dhimmi” citizens. Of course I am not actually advocating that Israel do such a thing but you can see my point. She is just one of the many pro-Palestinian propagandists who distort history.

  3. I’m pleased that Ms. Thomas received an award that recognizes her unique contributions to society. Now put her back into the formaldehyde – she’s beginning to smell.

  4. Why is anyone surprised at the attack on jews? We have, are and will always be fodder for the goyim…I’m not understanding why you don’t see that the mere fact that we are in golus and the Torah had warned us beforehand that this is the way it will be …. why is there suprise here at all?
What we have to do is be mispallel, do tshuva, do the best and be the best we can, be disciplined and courageous and Hashem will reward us in due time. Then we will see who will have the last laugh.
We should all be zoicha to see the mapula of the goyim….can’t wait.
