Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton shifted blame for her loss against President Trump in the 2016 general election to Sen. Bernie Sanders.

“There was no question about who was going to be the nominee,” Clinton said in an interview last week. “But unfortunately, you know, his campaign and his principal supporters were just very difficult and really, constantly not just attacking me but my supporters … it had an impact.”

Clinton won the 2016 Democratic nomination for president following an acrimonious convention in which Sanders supporters loudly voiced displeasure with the former secretary of state.

  1. Hillary Clinton’s loss can be blamed on the individual who sabotaged her chances more than anyone else, and that person is Hillary Clinton.

Her tone-deaf “Deplorables” comment, her assuming several battleground states were “In the bag” and ignoring them, her overall arrogance and her grating personality were the main reasons she lost. She had an unpopular opponent who many people were concerned wasn’t suitable for the presidency, she had served as SecState for a hugely popular outgoing administration, she was First Lady for her extremely popular husband, yet she still somehow managed to lose. She turned off enough people, enough people didn’t like her, and enough people flat-out didn’t trust her that she lost, an accomplishment of her very own, managed without anybody’s help.

To put it in very sophisticated terms, her “Ick Factor” did her in.

  2. Forget about everything else constantly picking public fights with Bernie Sanders is not going to get her anything other than disdain from Bernie’s supporters and no new supporters from among anyone else.

She must be in the early stage of mental decline if she doesn’t realize this. I’m saying this as a neutral comment I’m not picking fights with a “has been” either. Twenty five years ago I hated her, today I just feel bad for her

  3. What a bitter sore loser. When will this menace leave us alone already? Stop reporting everything this washed up prune spews forth. I feel bad for her husband, Bill, for having to stick with this idiot.

  4. Wasn’t it Bush’s fault? Or was that just Obamba’s mantra. Hey there HillBilly, maybe no one is interested in you? Hey d’ja ever think of that?

  5. Hillary doesn’t mind if she’s hated as long as she’s feared, too. Once she became an object of ridicule, with a lot of help from Trump, all the machinations in the world couldn’t help her. But she hasn’t caught on.

  6. When I was in high school there was a girl who came late everyday. One day it was because her alarm didn’t go off one day it was because she missed the bus. It was never her fault.

Hillary must have been just like her as a child
and got to grow up to become it’s never my fault.

  7. So let me get this straight:
Hillary Clinton lost 2016 because of misogynist Macedonian content farmers whose stellar content convinced Putin to interfere in the election, which he did by placing Facebook ads which were so brilliant they simultaneously convinced people to support both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump to the extent that Sanders supporters were able to cause her to lose the election even after she got the nomination.

    Did I leave anyone out?
